Industrial heat recovery from corrosive and aggressive air and gas

A very large proportion of industrial air and gas processes include moist, corrosive and dusty air and gas with moderate temperatures (up to 160°C).  Low energy prices in the past have made it possible to ignore this area completely from energy saving and conservation point of view.  And since almost everybody ignored this energy conservation, the industry as a whole was simply able to get away with this wasteful practice.  NOT ANY LONGER.  Energy prices may fluctuate considerably in cycles but they are rising in the long run.  To become more competitive, these vast potential areas of untapped energy conservation and recovery must be tackled head on.  Even energy from the most corrosive air and gas containing acids and other substances  can and must be recovered.  And with GUPEX® corrosion resistant plastic equiment this is perfectly possible.

Gupex AS have for over 25 years made their own proprietary industrial plastic corrosion and acid resistant air to air heat exchanger, designed for energy recovery in many corrosive industrial air processes.  Where other heat exchangers only last a short time, the GUPEX® air heat exchanger goes on and on.  Some GUPEX® units are still recovering heat energy after more than 20 years in humid, corrosive and dusty air with acidic water condensing through the heat exchanger plates. The air to air heat exchanger is made of glass fibre reinforced plastic, GRP, with the casing made of polyester sandwich material.  This gives a rigid, lightweight construction with excellent thermal insulation.
